There was a wonderful turnout to celebrate the Act of Remembrance at the village memorial today.
I was grateful to be able to welcome Mark Bunting to minister the prayers and Bea, a young cornet player from Perrott Hill School, to play the Last Post and Reveille.
We are lucky to have a number of ex-service personnel from the village to take part in our Act of Remembrance, which only adds to the emotional thanks we have to those that gave the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of peace.
Bill and Alison Stevens kindly hosted coffee and biscuits afterwards.
Many thanks to all who attended and especially Chris Taylor and Martin Oliver, who are quietly responsible for the growing number of poignant symbols of remembrance around the village. Thanks also to Sally Moralee, for additional poppies around the war memorial and to Ian Perring and Alistair Moralee for removing the leaves from the village green in preparation for the event.
