Some of you may have noticed a new SID in the village?

Cllr Jason Bradley and Allan Leader, coordinator for our Community Speed Watch, have collaborated together to research the new SID.  (The manufacturer of the original SID has “done a runner”).

The Parish Council has purchased on their recommendation and the new unit was installed and tested on Monday.  The original SID was partly funded by businesses in the village with Hilton Herbs and Coombe Farm  being generous sponsors along with Southern Conservatories, The Old Rectory and the Farm Shop.

It is currently quietly recording data to establish a base line and will commence its regular duties next Monday.

Under Alan’s guidance, the Community Speed Watch has expanded and once trained, members work in pairs and can book their time slot online, making the rota very flexible and easy to manage.
